Meet Jullie-Ann

Her story

A painter first.

Before there was a brow pencil, there was a brush. Jullie-Ann Viljoen is a Pretoria fine artist who works in oil and mixed media, building her paintings in layers until they sit somewhere between abstraction and realism. Her work circles resilience, memory and discovery, and it often begins in seasons of change.

Years at the easel shaped the way she sees a face: where the light falls, how one feature balances another, which colour belongs in shadow and which in warmth. Most of all, they taught her restraint. Knowing when a painting is finished is its own kind of skill.

That is the eye she brings to permanent makeup. Brows, lips and eyeliner are designed the way she would compose a portrait, in proportion to the woman in front of her, never copied from a trend.

Same woman, different canvas.

The philosophy

Enhancement, not transformation.

Her series She Was Always Whole explores the feminine as quiet presence and wholeness. Her permanent makeup carries the same belief. Nothing about you needs to be fixed. The work is simply to bring forward what is already there, so that every morning you wake up looking like yourself.

More than beauty. A return to you.

The painter

Surfaces that hold what we carry.

Rather than describing an experience directly, Jullie-Ann builds surfaces that can hold it: layer over layer of pigment, texture and line. Her paintings are made to be lived with, revealing something new on every return. Collectors in South Africa, Switzerland and the USA hold her original works.

Her approach

How she works.

I

Personal design

Your shape is measured, drawn and refined with you, in proportion to your bone structure and expression.

II

Natural results

Soft, believable, wearable. The goal is that people notice you look well, not that you've had something done.

III

Premium pigments

Colour theory, not guesswork: pigment is chosen for your skin's tone and undertone so it settles and softens gracefully.

IV

Meticulous hygiene

Every treatment is carried out with meticulous hygiene and calm attention, in a private, unhurried setting.
